MSC Technology Italia is looking for a Telco Network Engineer with proven experience in 3GPP Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies to contribute to the design, deployment, and optimization of next generation mobile network architectures supporting MSC’s digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise across GSM, LTE, and NR (5G) technologies and a solid understanding of core network functions, with the ability to operate across complex environments and collaborate effectively with engineering teams and technology partners. This position is well suited for professionals coming from telecom operators, system integrators, or network equipment vendors with direct exposure to RAN engineering activities. Key Responsibilities •Design, implement, and maintain 3GPP-compliant RAN solutions across GSM, LTE, and 5G NR technologies. •Support configuration, commissioning, and optimization of radio access nodes, ensuring high availability and performance. •Analyze and troubleshoot end to end network behaviors, including signaling flows, mobility management, and service performance. •Collaborate with core network teams to ensure proper integration between RAN and control/user plane functions. •Perform radio network performance assessments, KPI tracking, and improvement initiatives. •Review and interpret 3GPP specifications to ensure solution compliance and alignment with evolving standards. •Produce technical documentation, system reports, and operational guidelines for internal stakeholders. •Coordinate with vendors and technology partners during rollout, validation, and operational phases.
Required Qualifications •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics, or related disciplines. •Proven experience working on RAN networks (GSM, LTE, NR) within telecom operators or vendors. •Strong understanding of the 3GPP architecture and protocols across multiple releases. •Knowledge of core network functions (e.g., MME, SGW, PGW, AMF, SMF, UPF) and related interfaces. •Hands-on experience with signaling interfaces (S1, X2, NG, etc.) and their operational workflows. •Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and methodologies for radio network optimization. •Ability to work in structured environments with a proactive, analytical mindset. •Strong communication skills and proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications •Experience with major RAN vendor ecosystems (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei). •Knowledge of OSS/EMS platforms, configuration management, and network automation frameworks. •Exposure to virtualized and cloud-native network functions, particularly within 5G architectures. •Understanding of regulatory aspects, spectrum allocation, and RF planning principles.
