MSC Technology Italia is seeking a Data Scientist to support analytics, modelling, and data driven innovation across our telecom, IoT, radio engineering, and industrial operations domains. You will work closely with RAN engineers, internetworking engineers, open-source telecom developers, radio propagation specialists, and maintenance/process engineers to extract insights from heterogeneous data sources—ranging from wireless network performance, IoT telemetry, RF measurements, and maintenance logs to sensor data and digital manufacturing systems. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about turning complex engineering datasets into actionable intelligence, predictive models, and optimized decision-making tools.
Key Responsibilities
•Analyse large scale and time series datasets to generate insights and support business decisions. •Develop, train, and validate predictive and machine learning models. •Build and maintain data models and reusable analytical pipelines. •Collaborate closely with the data team as well as software developers and hardware/IoT engineering teams. •Translate business requirements into technical deliverables by working with business analysts and stakeholders. •Present findings and provide clear recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. •Ensure delivery of high-quality outputs within defined timelines and be able to work under pressure when needed.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field. •3+ years of experience in a data science role. •Strong Python and SQL skills. •Solid background in time-series and large-scale data analysis, predictive modelling and machine learning. •Hands-on experience with PySpark and working in Databricks. •Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI. •Knowledge of Agile development methodologies. •Familiarity with Azure cloud services and version control using Git. •Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. •Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. •Good communication and ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional teams. •Fluency in English (both spoken and written). •Willingness to learn new technologies and develop new skills.
Considered a Plus •Knowledge of IoT ecosystems or telecommunication/network protocols. •Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Scala. •Familiarity with MLOps practices.
