Our client is a leading Corporate and Investment Bank based in Milan, with a strong international presence. As part of a strategic strengthening of the Trade Finance Division, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Trade & Commodity Finance Specialist to join their team.
The professional will be responsible for managing and developing trade and commodity finance transactions, supporting both corporate clients and trading companies involved in international trade of commodities. The role involves structuring tailored financial solutions, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory frameworks.
- Manage and structure trade and commodity finance transactions, supporting corporate and trading clients involved in international trade.
- Develop tailored financial solutions across various trade finance products such as Letters of Credit, guarantees, and pre-export or borrowing base facilities.
- Perform credit and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and international trade regulations.
- Oversee transaction documentation and coordinate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor financial performance and transaction lifecycle, ensuring accurate reporting and timely settlement.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to enhance
- Strong knowledge of Commodity Trade Finance instruments (LCs, Guarantees, Structured Trade) and international rules (UCP, ISBP, URDG, URR, ISP98).
- Solid understanding of commodity markets, logistics, and shipping operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, or related field; ICC certifications (CITF, CDCS, CSDG) preferred.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Commodity Trade Finance within an international banking environment, ideally with oil-related transactions and price index (Platts) exposure.
- Proficiency in Excel and trade systems; familiarity with Lean Six Sigma (White/Green Belt).
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken) and fluent knowledge of French is highly appreciated.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and resilience under pressure in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
